Walking Club Kick-Off Walking Club Kick-Off

Tuesday, April 7, 2020 at 8 a.m. The garden walkers wellness program is included with paid garden admission and is free to garden members. Join us for a walk on Tuesday mornings to help you fight stress, strengthen your mind and body and feel rejuvenated. The walking club kick-off event will have healthy snacks, refreshments and speakers providing great information on health-related topics. Please RSVP by filling out the registration form. Iced Teas with The Tea Smith- May 30 Iced Teas with The Tea Smith- May 30

Learn all about different types of teas during these 1.5 hour sessions with The Tea Smith. Americans drink about 80% of their tea iced. In this class we will look at the history of iced teas and try some great new ways to make them. We will also enjoy some new seasonal selections. Cost is $15 for members and $20 for non-members. Ayur-what? In this class, participants will get a basic understanding of the most ancient healing system available to us, Ayurveda, learn how to incorporate a variety of herbs into their daily lives, and gain knowledge of how to better understand their own constitution from the Ayurvedic perspective. This class will cover the herbs and foods used to nourish the body and lifestyle factors that are best practiced in the summer time. Participants will learn how to properly cleanse the body according to the Ayurvedic and herbal medicine perspective for optimal health and wellness. Instructed by Lauren A. Domenge, certified clinical herbalist and certified Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant. Pre-registration is required by June 21.

Tincture Making: An Herbalism Basic- July 19 Tincture Making: An Herbalism Basic- July 19

July 19, 2020 from 2 to 3 p.m.
This interactive class will give participants a hands-on approach to creating basic herbal tinctures. Participants will create their own folk "medicine" with the use of plants and just a few other accessible ingredients. Participants should bring their own small mason jar to class. All other supplies will be provided. Instructed by Lauren A. Domenge, certified clinical herbalist and certified Ayurvedic lifestyle consultant. Pre-registration is required by July 12.
