July 26, 2020 from 2 to 4 p.m. This class is designed for anyone who loves a soft blue and is in need of a new apron! Woad (Isatis tinctoria) is the cousin of Indigo, and this dye bonds particularly well with cellulose fibers. With instruction from Ashton Page, participants will create a communal Woad vat and dye their own beautiful hemp apron. All supplies provided. Participants may bring their own fibers to dye in the communal vat after the aprons have been completed.

Cyanotypes are a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue print, or blueprint, that can be used to create a beautiful botanical piece of art for your home. Join us for this workshop with Samantha Gueldon to learn about this artform and create your own piece. Bring your own surface to sun print in this workshop with Samantha Gueldon. Coasters, a tote bag, pillowcases, poster paper, you name it! Class includes instruction, supplies to print your surface, and a stroll through the garden while the piece is printed in the sun. Cost is $10 for members and $20 for non-members.

August 29, 2020 from 2 to 4 p.m. In this session, participants will take a leisurely hike around the garden and collect fallen plant materials with unique structures, shapes, and sizes and then use them to create a special piece of wearable art. The diversity in nature will create an abundance of possibilities and opportunities to experiment and will yield beautiful results. Participants will learn the process of preparing, bundling, and steaming plant parcels and will create their own starter plant soak solution to use at home for later projects. Instructor Ashton Page will provide some fabric to test with, but participants should bring items of clothing (made of natural materials) to make contact prints on, or yardage for a project if you make your own clothing.
